How octoja separates data between multiple customers

This article describes octoja's tenancy model and how customer data is kept separate.
What multi-tenancy means
octoja is designed for managed service providers (MSPs) that operate multiple customer environments in one platform. Multi-tenancy means those customer environments are kept separate within the same platform.
How it works
- Your IT provider manages all of its customers in one octoja environment.
- Each managed company, including your organisation, is represented as a separate customer context.
- Users normally see only the devices, alerts, reports, and settings that belong to their assigned customer scope.
Each customer — for example Customer A, Customer B, Customer C — has its own devices and data within the same octoja environment, kept separate from other customers.
Why this matters
- Data separation — customer environments are kept apart within the platform.
- Customer-specific setup — dashboards and reports can be filtered and scoped per customer. Branding is configured once at the organisation level and applies platform-wide.
- Operational clarity — providers can organise support, reporting, and administration by customer.
For IT providers
In octoja, tenancy is managed through customers. Each customer has its own users, devices, and related configuration. Branding is set once for the whole octoja environment under Administration → Branding — it is not scoped per customer.
