Review patch results

After a maintenance window runs, you can see exactly what installed. octoja shows patch results in two places: the Update Catalog tracks a single update across your whole fleet, and each patch cycle shows what happened during one ring's maintenance occurrence.

Before you start

• You need the View Patch Management permission to see patch status and history. Permissions are granted per group under Administration → Groups (see Assign Permissions).

Track one update across your fleet

The Update Catalog is the fleet-wide view — use it to answer "where does this update stand everywhere?"

1. Go to Patch Management → Update Catalog. Each row is an update with its severity and how many devices still have it pending. Switch the filter to Pending only to focus on outstanding updates.
2. Select a policy to see each update's progress per ring. A ring shows one of Not yet scheduled, Awaiting review, Scheduled, Installing, Installed, Installed (with failures), Rejected, or Deferred. A globally blocked update is marked Blocked.
3. Open an update for the per-device breakdown — Device, Customer, Ring, and Status. Each device shows Installed, Already installed, Failed, Missed — device offline, Requires Reboot, Skipped, Not Applicable, or Withdrawn. A failed device lists its error code and message.

See the results of one cycle

Open a cycle to review a single maintenance occurrence — what installed on which device, and what failed.

1. Go to Patch Management → Patch Cycles and open a cycle. While it runs and after it finishes, switch between By Device and By Update.
2. By Device lists each device's status — Pending, In Progress, Completed, or Missed — and its Reboots count. Expand a device to see each update's result: Succeeded, Failed, Requires Reboot, Already Installed, Skipped, Not Applicable, or Withdrawn.
3. By Update aggregates across devices, with Succeeded, Failed, Missed, and Other counts for each update.
4. A completed cycle shows summary cards for Completed, Missed, In Progress, and Pending devices.
