Set Up the TV View for Live Fleet Status

The TV View puts your whole fleet's active problems on one full-screen board — built to run unattended on a wall display or spare monitor so your team catches issues at a glance. Colour-coded tiles sit above a live table of every current warning, critical issue and offline server; new problems flash as they arrive and can play an alert sound, and the board refreshes on its own without anyone touching it. This guide shows how to open the TV View, filter what it shows, and set up its alert sounds.

Before you start

• You need the TV View permission to open the board. To change its settings — including the alert sounds — you also need Manage TV View. Both are granted per group under Administration → Groups.
• The board shows the customers and devices you already have access to, so what appears follows your normal group scope.

Open the TV View

1. Go to the Dashboard.
2. Select TV View. The board opens full-screen.

Across the top, three tiles summarise the current state of your fleet:

Below the tiles, a table lists each open issue with its Customer, Site, Device, Type, OS, Check, Time and Severity. A newly-arrived issue flashes briefly in its severity colour so a glance at the board catches what just changed, and each row links straight to the device behind it. The table refreshes on its own, and the header, tiles and paging stay pinned while the list scrolls. When nothing matches, the board shows All clear.

Filter what the board shows

Use the severity filter to narrow the board to what matters on this screen:

You can also narrow the board by operating system and device type, so one screen can watch, for example, only your servers or only one platform.

Turn alert sounds on

The TV View can play a sound the moment a new problem appears, so an unattended board gets attention even when no one is looking at it.

1. On the board, choose Enable warning sounds. Browsers block audio until you interact with the page, so if the control reads Click to enable, click it once to allow sound.
2. Use Mute warning sounds to silence the board again at any time.

By default a built-in sound plays when a critical issue appears and another when a server goes offline. Leave the sounds untouched to use those defaults.

Use your own alert sounds

With the Manage TV View permission you can replace the built-in sounds with your own — changing them here changes them for everyone who opens the board.

1. Open TV view settings from the board.
2. Under Critical issue, drop an audio file or click to browse. Do the same under Server offline for the offline sound.
3. Use Play preview to hear a sound, or Reset to default to go back to the built-in one.

Each file must be MP3, WAV, or OGG and at most 1 MB. Leave a slot empty to keep using the built-in default for it.

Tips

• Give a shared wall-display login only the TV View permission, and keep Manage TV View for the people who should change the sounds — that way a public board can't be reconfigured from the screen it runs on.
• The board is designed to run for days on its own: it refreshes continuously and reconnects by itself, so you can leave it up without signing back in.
• Point each screen at the platform or device type it should watch, so a wall board stays readable instead of listing every issue in the fleet.
