Keyboard Shortcuts

All keyboard shortcuts available in octoja for faster navigation and actions.

This page lists the keyboard shortcuts available in octoja.

On macOS, replace Ctrl with ⌘ and Shift with ⇧.

Global shortcuts

These work on every page.

Ctrl+KOpen the command bar (press it again to close)
Ctrl+BToggle the sidebar

Command bar shortcuts

These work while the command bar is open.

TabCycle to the next search scope
Shift+TabCycle to the previous search scope
EnterSelect the highlighted result
Ctrl+EnterOpen quick actions for the highlighted item
EscapeGo back one level, or close the command bar
BackspaceGo back one level (when the search field is empty)

Detail pages

These shortcuts are available when viewing or editing a single item.

  • F2
  • Edit the title
  • Case detail

Page actions

Many pages register their actions in the command bar, and some of those actions carry their own shortcut. These work while the command bar is closed — the shortcut is also shown next to the action inside the command bar.

Ctrl+NCreate a new item, on list pages that offer a create action (for example Customers, Users, or Groups)
Ctrl+SSave your changes, on edit pages that offer a save action (for example your Profile)

Toolbox

These shortcuts are available inside the Toolbox window.

Ctrl+Shift+TOpen a new terminal tab
Ctrl+Shift+EOpen a new file explorer tab
Ctrl+Shift+WClose the active tab
Ctrl+Shift+LOpen a new event log tab
Ctrl+Shift+ROpen a new remote desktop tab
Ctrl+Shift+XWith the remote surface focused: type clipboard contents as keystrokes
Ctrl+Shift+MWith the remote surface focused: switch to the next display when multiple displays are available
Ctrl+Alt+EndWith the remote surface focused: send Ctrl+Alt+Del to a Windows target; use Ctrl for this shortcut on macOS too
Ctrl+CIn a terminal tab: copy the selected text — with nothing selected, the interrupt is sent to the remote shell as usual
Ctrl+VIn a terminal tab: paste from the clipboard
Ctrl+FIn a registry editor tab: open the find box, which searches key names, value names and value data
Ctrl+SIn a file explorer tab: save the file open in the text editor back to the device
TabIn a file explorer tab: insert a tab character in the text editor, instead of moving to the next field

Inline editing

These work inside editable text fields throughout octoja.

EnterSave the edited value, in single-line fields
EscapeDiscard changes and exit editing
Ctrl+EnterSave (in multi-line text fields)

Form shortcuts

  • Create Case dialog
