Earthquake Monitor

Get alerted when an earthquake above a set magnitude occurs near a location.

The Earthquake Monitor check queries the USGS earthquake catalogue every 5 minutes by default and evaluates events near a location.

Steps

  1. Open a device with internet access and choose Checks → Add Check → Earthquake Monitor.
  2. Enable Use device location to locate it from its public IP address with city-level accuracy. Alternatively, enter an address, place, or coordinates as latitude, longitude under Location.
  3. Set Monitoring radius (km), Warning magnitude, and Critical magnitude, then save.

For assignment and required permissions, see Assign checks with config packages.
