Xopero Backup
Use the Xopero Backup check to monitor the status, errors, age, and runtime of Xopero ONE Backup&Recovery Agent backup tasks.
The Xopero Backup check monitors the Xopero ONE Backup&Recovery Agent on a device. It reads the agent's local log files and evaluates the latest run of each backup task: status, errors and warnings, age of the last backup, and runtime. The check runs on Windows, Linux, and macOS (each as an x64 and an Arm64 build) every 60 minutes on the octoja agent.
Steps
Add the check on the device that runs the Xopero ONE agent.
- Open the device under Devices.
- Select Checks → Add Check → Xopero Backup.
For many devices, you can assign it with config packages.
Settings
If the warning threshold is higher than the critical threshold, the check swaps the two values before evaluating.
The check only finds tasks whose log entries fall within the Lookback period (hours). If the last backup is older, the check reports "no backup tasks found" instead of an age breach. Set the lookback period at least as large as the critical threshold so the age thresholds can apply.
Results
The check evaluates only the latest run per task name within the lookback period. The worst result across all tasks becomes the check status.
Collected metrics
For each backup task the check records:
- Task name and status of the last run
- Time of the last backup and its age in hours
- Backup size, runtime and number of resources
- Number of errors and warnings in the last run
Log directories
The check reads every .log file in the agent's log directory, including subfolders.
Notes
- The maximum completion time only applies to tasks that are still running. The duration of completed runs is shown but not evaluated. Other intermediate task states are rated OK.
- Age is measured from the backup creation time Xopero logs in the result, or from the time of the log entry when that is missing.
- Individual log files that cannot be read are skipped; the rest are still evaluated.
