DATEV
Monitor DATEV services, DATEV SQL instances, the program path and the License Manager on a Windows device.
The DATEV check monitors a local DATEV installation on a Windows device with the octoja agent. It checks services, DATEV SQL instances, the program path and License Manager (LiMa), and runs every 10 minutes by default.
Steps
- Open the Windows device and add DATEV under Checks.
- Under Required services, enter DATEV service names or display names whose absence should also be critical. Without this list, the check evaluates discovered services but does not know your intended installation.
- Check Role of this device. Automatic selects the license-server role when a local LiMa service or process exists; otherwise it selects Client. Explicitly select License server if a missing LiMa should also be critical.
- Enter License server name if you want to test DNS resolution. Under Show advanced options, you can also enter the actual TCP port used by your environment.
- Save and inspect the next result. Set up alerts if needed.

Results
Stopped automatic DATEV services, stopped DATEV SQL instances and an unreachable program path are critical. An unknown program path or undetected DATEV installation produces a warning. For a network share, monitor free space directly on its server.
A stopped LiMa service with a LiMa process still running produces only a warning unless you explicitly listed it as a required service. Failed DNS resolution is critical on clients and a warning on license servers. A failed enabled TCP test is critical.
For problems, open the result details and inspect the named service, path or server. A green check confirms the configured technical tests, not the business correctness of your DATEV data.
